commitment to teams

High School Athletics are competitive in nature and being a part of a team requires commitment.  Life happens and emergencies do come up.  However, participants on teams need to be in regular attendance, and communicate with their respective head coaches regarding absences,  Failure to do so may result in dismissal from a team.

We want our student-athletes to be well rounded, and participation in multiple Donovan activities is encouraged.   Not only is playing multiple sports research backed to reduce instances of injury, a role player in one sport may be star in another.  I believe in our coaches ability to develop student-athletes of all skill levels.

Please note absences for non-Donovan related activities will not be considered excused absences.

Please be aware that the official Monsignor Donovan policy is as follows: "[a]ny student-athlete who begins a season as a member of a team and quits that team before the end of the season, may not try out for another sport until the previous season has ended."

Fine Arts Night and Donovan Drama

The Donovan Drama Department would like to thank everyone in the school community for their support in preparation for GIAA Region 2-AA One Act Competition.  There will be one last performance of "Relative Strangers" at Fine Arts Night on Wednesday November 16th.  Don't miss your chance to see their performance.

interactions with officials

Please note that our interactions with officials are to reflect our school's culture and values.  While our venues afford us an intimate "in the action" feel at events,  that proximity cannot lead to negative interactions with officials.   This may lead to a spectator being suspended from attending athletic events at Monsignor Donovan for up to one year.

At no point should a spectator approach officials following a contest.

Donovan Swimming

Anyone interested in the Donovan Swim Team should email Head Coach Elizabeth Blanco ASAP at

Please note, as we go forward, Senior Night may not necessarily always be the night of the final home game of a season.  A variety of factors will be considered when selecting the date for any special events during competitions.  Recent years have proven that there are occasions where rescheduling is impossible and we want to be sure we honor our Seniors.

All student-athletes must have their paperwork up to date and in Dragonfly Max.  This platform houses all of our required information.  Parents are advised to scan and upload PDF copies and retain the original (free apps like Adobe Scan can do this for you).   As of 8/1 all student-athletes must be up to date in Dragonfly Max to participate.
